Hello? Hello? Is anybody out there?
I've been away from my blog for so long that I'm starting to wonder. I stayed up until the wee hours last night uploading photos for this post because every single day, for about two weeks now, I've been telling myself that I need to give my blog some love.
But then you know what happens? I start playing with the kids or eating a cucumber sandwich or doing laundry or making no bake cookies or eating no bake cookies or painting the bathroom and, before I know it, another day has passed. Sigh.
Sigh.
Anyway, I finally managed to pull a few things together and take some photos.
Lucky for me, the temperature was a wee bit cooler yesterday when I was shooting this group of pictures. Holy cow, has it been hot and humid! It was so wonderful to be outside enjoying the weather. There was a little bit of a breeze too...that's always nice. I enjoyed every minute of it, except for when I almost stepped on a snake. Yeah, that part wasn't so good.
I stopped by my favorite garden center this week and purchased a few pots of English Lavender and after looking at how pretty they were, thought I'd pair one with a few other things for a simple tablesetting. I got out a bottle of lemonade that had been stashed in the cupboard...something that I'd forgotten all about until just the other day. And, of course, I added one of my favorite things to the mix, other than the flowers...fruit.
I could just imagine us sitting here in the dappled sun, chatting about the day's happenings and having something to drink and nibble on. Wouldn't that be nice?
The weather calls for lots of sunshine today and I'm looking forward to fun and time spent visiting with my family. Anyway, I'm hoping that's how it works out...my little girl isn't feeling so well. This is birthday week around here. My mom, dad, father-in-law and brother-in-law all have their b-days, so tonight we're supposed to be having our festivities. Lot's to do, so I'll bid you farewell for now.
Hope you have a great weekend!
xo

As always your post is filled with lovely images which capture the beauty of a summer day.
ReplyDeleteMy philosophy is life comes first, blog last. :@
Just gorgeous, Tricia. I wish I could pop over to your beautiful talble and have some lemonade with you.
ReplyDeleteYou have probably already said this, but would you mind sharing what lens you use? The bokeh in the lavender picture is awesome. I use a 1.8 50mm for my close ups but it creates a completely different bokeh.
Summer definitely has a way of allowing us to lose track of time, and I love that!
ReplyDeleteEach of these photographs is just beautiful Tricia.
You truly have a talent when it comes to styling and photography, and it is always such a pleasure to visit you here.
Have a wonderful week ahead!
xo.
Wow...you sure know how to come back strong...these are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI've been MIA in the blogging world too with school and everything in life! lol But I have to say, even when you are busy - you always take the most beautiful photos!!! LOVE these - very summery and inspiring!! Have a great day, my friend.

ReplyDeleteTricia,
ReplyDeleteIt has been a while...
Summer days fly by, you get so busy, right? Lovely table.
I would be delighted to sit and sip lemonade with you at the beautiful parlor table and chairs! Such lovely, summer-y pictures!
ReplyDeleteI do not tend to my blog as much in the summer either...life is meant to be spent with the ones we love, so don't appologize for living a fulfilled life and taking care of your sweet family! But I do enjoy your posts when you do get around to it!!
xo
Cindy
Flowers and fruit - always a gorgeous pairing. I bought some blueberries to put in my vintage fruit containers last week and my husband went off and ate them before I had a chance to take photos. I had to explain that food isn't always food around here and then he just looked at me like I had three heads. Hope you had fun at the birthday festivities and got to eat lots of cake!
ReplyDeleteWhat a heavenly series...the epitome of warm summer days. Aaaahhh!
ReplyDeleteVery summery feel.
ReplyDeleteKelly
Hope your festivities
ReplyDeletehave been fantastic,
despite the heat wave!
Love how you styled this
shoot. You truly have a
gift, my friend....

Hi Tricia,

These photos are just so beautiful I feel like I could sit right now and have a cucumber sandwich with you : )
I knew exactly what you meant when you said you tried to get to the blog but another day would pass and then another, and another. That is exactly what happens to me.
Enjoy you day!
hugs...
I have you on my reader, so I don't miss a post - I might not be able to leave a comment immediately, but I always know when you have a new post - the wait between posts just whets my appetite for your next post!
ReplyDeleteYour photography is beautiful, as always!
