Hi everyone! Long time, no see. I hope you all had a wonderfully happy Christmas and New Year. The holidays were pretty good around here. It seemed like I was always busy with my kids, but in a good sort of way. My little people have returned to school now and, I have to admit, it feels kind of nice to be settling back into a routine.
Anyway, now that things have calmed down a bit I finally have some time for blogging. I thought I'd do a recap of 2012 by selecting a few favorite photos. While the cute faces of my children are my absolute favorites, I noticed as I started looking through my old posts that I was mostly choosing flowers so I thought I'd go with that for a theme. Last year seemed to be about flowers and the previous year was food. I wonder what 2013 has in store for me?
I've put a link underneath each photo if you want to see what the post was all about.
I really love these first two photos. It's something about the softness and the light. Oh and probably because I can see the grass too!! Now that Christmas is over I'm like, "Alright, it's time for the snow to melt and for spring and summer to get here." Yeah, I'm not living in the moment to well.
The photo below was in my most viewed post of all time...wish I knew why so I could repeat it :)
Peonies! Oh, one of my most absolute favorite flowers. I can't wait to start seeing those again...ranunculus too...love those!
In the post above I showed my version of the big Restoration Hardware shelf that the Mister and I made...I love how it turned out and that I have lots of room for all my dishes now.
Well, there ya go...my little flower photo recap for 2012.
I hope that your New Year is off to good start and that the next twelve months bring only happiness and blessings your way. Thank you so much for all of your visits and friendship over the past year.
Tricia ♥

ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS Tricia!!! Your photos are always breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteI think the floral photos that I take are usually my favorites as well.
Your lighting is always so beautiful! I think lighting is the hardest thing for me right now. Hopefully I can get it soon.
Hope you have a lovely night.
Sincerely,
Melinda
I am so happy that you did not ask us to pick a favorite, because for me, it would be impossible. Glad to read that you had a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Looking forward to seeing all your lovely images in 2013.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tricia! Serious eye candy! I love the little table outside - I can see why it would be a favourite.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are absolutely gorgeous! Such beauty!! Happy New year to you :)
ReplyDeleteOh, if I could grow peonies and ranunculus I would be in heaven. If I could make photos like you I would also feel like heaven.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could put my feelings into words about your bistro table photo. It makes me feel happy and free. It makes me want to sit down and talk to you about a myriad of things. Probably I would ask you so many questions. I think people like it because it has such a natural feel- no pretense but at the same time has such elegance and simplicity. I hope that helps and I look forward to what others think about it.
I always enjoy your still-life photos. If I had to choose, I'd have to say #6 and #8 are my faves. Love the peach and green colors so much. Looking forward to your work this coming year.
ReplyDeleteGrace,
Brenda

I love your flower theme. I more than love your photos. You are a fabulous photographer. It's obvious the beauty that you see in things around you. Thanks for sharing that beauty with us.
ReplyDeleteOh, my. You have me wishing for warmer weather now. I so want to get out into the dirt and plant some pretty flowers. Instead we have the dirty snow to look at :(
ReplyDeleteAll your photos are so pretty, but I do love that one from the Restoration Hardware shelf post. The peachy tones and off white tiny flowers play so well off each other.
So much air in these pictures!...
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful 2013!;)
Darling Tricia it must have been difficult to you choose between your wonderful photos, I imagine! I was struck by the beauty of the images of your garden, so much to ask you information about your camera, remember? =). It's the most viewed post of all time because it is light for the soul =)
ReplyDeleteHappy and peaceful new year, darling.
Silvia
What a treat, Tricia! I'm so glad you did this recap. It was a delight for the eyes. I'm like you... as soon as the holidays are over I don't want it to be winter anymore. Luckily in my climate we'll start seeing almond blossoms, daffodils and narcissus in a few weeks (early spring for us is February).
ReplyDeleteAlways so pretty, I love your flowers. I have been looking at seed and garden books...my new yard has no peonies and I can't wait to pick some out. Happy New Year, I hope you had a wonderful holiday.
ReplyDeleteTiffany
So much beauty in one post! You are so gifted, Tricia...I love all of your wonderful photos!
ReplyDeletegorgeous gorgeous gorgeous - you inspire me so.....looking forward to 2013 photos. Happy new year Tricia!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos--a year's worth of beauty. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteI just love seeing your photos. They have a soft dreamy effect to them. I LOVE that. Looking forward to seeing more in this New year...
ReplyDeleteHugs~
Coming here is like a breath of fresh air.....Happy New Year and I always love to see what your photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful blog you have. I have just discovered it. Your photography is amazing! I wish that I could take photos like you. Tomorrow I am going to spend the whole afternoon dreamily reading through all your posts. I have put a link to you from my blog so that more people can discover you :)
ReplyDeleteTricia! All your photos are inspiring! I hope to become as good as you one day! I think the one in the field turned out to be most people's favorites is because it evokes passion and romance of a lovely meal in nature's beauty (just a thought). What kind of lens do you use? You are really gifted when it comes to staging the photos and caputuring the natural light just right! I just got a canon 50 mm portrait lens. Love the way it creates the soft background. My next lens (hopefully) will be a longer portrait lens and then a macro lens for flowers. It takes practice and patience to learn the camera and you do it so well!
ReplyDeleteTricia, I love your blog and I LOVE your photos. Your photos of paperwhites with the amazing bokeh at Christmas made me want to toss all the red and green in my home and start over! It is work like yours that has inspired me to really learn how to use a camera - it's one of my goals for this year, and I hope that one day, I can take photos like yours. Of course, it would help if I had a home that looked like yours! :) I hope the new year is off to a good start for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteKaille
I have to say that I could look at your photos all day long! Seeing these again makes me look forward to warmer days. :-) Is there anything more beautiful than fresh flowers?
ReplyDeleteHi again, Tricia. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you posted these. Seeing so many of your lovely images all together is a real treat. Many of my favorites of yours, too, especially the last one which I think was such an inspired shoot.
Looking forward to your new photos in the coming year!
xo
Beautiful images ~ I find them inspiring!
ReplyDeleteThey are all so, so beautiful Tricia! Nothing get my heat beating like beautiful florals. With it being winter, it's not quite so easy to find things to photograph as it is when the garden and yard are in full swing.
ReplyDeleteBut, it will be here before we know it.
hugs...
Absolutely gorgeous, a wonderful collection Tricia!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I love peonies and you always take such beautiful photos of them!

I have always loved your beautiful photos. These are some of my very favorite ones too!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing more of your lovely photos this year!
Tricia, you take the most gorgeous photos. I love the lightness of them. I think the "favorite" is because we all just want to sit at that table, here the birds, feel the sun on our faces....and relax (sigh). I can't wait for peonies and ranunculus, either!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet comments on my chair post.
~Shanon
All of them are beautiful but I think my favorite is the bistro table set for us to chat and have a gass of lemonade ;) glad to stop by for a visit. Hope you're doing well. xoxo
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful, Tricia.
